So a fun day kicking around Cusco. Got some finger puppets from the little girls selling them on the streets. You buy one puppet and the the whole finger puppet squad shows up. There are some extremely poor people here so I purchased a few from each little kid until all my fingers had puppets and wanted me to take off my shoes so they could sell me more.
I ran into the same little girl I scored a puppet from yesterday. She is about 5 or 6 and just a cute little Inca kid. After I ran all the other kids off I got her a bag of corn¿nuts¿something and gave her a one sole (kinda sounds like soul lee) coin.
This is a spanish keyboard and I have not figured them out. The "at" sign is beyond my ability to figure out how to type. I have to cut and paste one when needed.
I am staying with a nice middle class family about 3 km outside of the main part of town. Really amazing stroke of luck. I have a nice room with furniture, they gave me a key to the house and I can pretty do whatever I want around the house. The neighborhood has a security guard and is in a quiet location.
I got a ticket to Puno on the train for saturday. An American was killed in on the bus route to Puno last tuesday. Everything is hauled in from Lima or the coast and these are serious mountain roads. They are roads are well paved but they drive just as bad as everyone else in the world.
